This time next week, I will be coming home from a trip to see the Pope in Philadelphia. I cannot express how excited I am to be in the same city as the Pope. I plan to learn many things on my trip! I will have a follow up blog on that.
There are 20 people who get to have a private audience with the Pope. I am not one of them, but a friend of mine is, John C. Maxwell. He is going to be talking to the Pope about transformational leadership. Isn’t it amazing that two of the people I admire are going to sit down and talk? A coincidence, I think not. These two men are working to change the world with the help of God. They have a lot in common, besides my undying admiration!
We cannot do anything good, without the help of God. He gives us ideas, inspirations, gifts and dreams and then He gently asks us what we are going to do with them. He is cheering us on! Pope Francis and John Maxwell are two examples of people who are helping to change the world by using their God-given gifts. These two people inspire me to use my gifts even when I am scared, tired, or overwhelmed! God needs me and he needs you to use our gifts. We are not John Maxwell or Pope Francis but it doesn’t mean we can’t change the world we live in.
Teddy Roosevelt said it best, “Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.” This is exactly what I intend to do.
